Dear Family and Friends,

We could not be more excited that you will be coming to our wedding!! To make this as SAFE as possible, here is our COVID plan:

  • We are requiring a negative COVID test (either PCR or RAPID) taken at the earliest on Wednesday 10/21 (so the days to get tested are Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday). If you are only coming on the Saturday event, you can get tested on Saturday if your test will come back in time! We are really encouraging people to get PCRs, however we know that it can be difficult to get PCRs or they can be delayed, so as a last resort we are accepting rapids.

  • We will have Abbott BinoxNow at-home rapid COVID tests available at the hotels if your PCR test (or rapid) is not available in time.

  • THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART: We will be CHECKING a negative COVID test at the door at every event!!! So, please, please, please bring a screen shot or the paper test result with you to EACH venue (We think a screen shot/picture on your phone will be easiest).

  • For the at-home rapid COVID tests (the preferred one to use is the Abbott BinoxNow), you can show a PICTURE of the negative test at the door. At minute 1:52 in the video below, there are instructions on how to do the at home rapid test.

Some places in Michigan for Covid Testing:

  • Emcura (Maple and Telegraph): people really love this place. We would recommend getting there at 7:45 am so you can line up in your car and be front in line before it opens at 8 am OR go after the 8-9:30 am morning rush. Bring your ID & Insurance Card. FYI, they can only charge through insurance if you are getting tested because of a recent exposure.

  • Beaumont Urgent Care (Orchard lake and 13 mile): We don’t know much about the Beaumont urgent care locations but it looks they give a PCR result that comes back in 24 hours.

  • Medical Care 1 Urgent Care (this is the BEST place. If you get a PCR, it is available the next day at 10 am!!) A little far in Ypsilanti, but it is our go-to!! It’s also open until 9 pm so it’s so good for the working people!

Our COVID point person is my sister Karlee Simmons (248-535-8288) and she will be the person to text with your questions, including if you think you had a false positive because of a recent COVID illness. Please do not text Taylor (or me) about it because we’ll get stressed!!

Thank you all so much for your flexibility and willingness to make this as safe as possible! We cannot wait!

Love,

Taylor and David
